business strategy

Oneworld is a provider of turnkey integration and advisory services for the wind and solar power markets. Oneworld’s is currently expanding its business by developing and operating wind and solar power projects in North America and the EU for both third parties and on its own behalf.

The following chart provides an overview of Oneworld’s operating divisions.

Turnkey Integration and Advisory Services Division

Oneworld’s revenues are driven primarily by the following service offerings to third parties in its solar and wind turnkey integration and advisory divisions.

  • Development, Design and Advisory Services – Oneworld provides development, design and advisory services which include site sourcing, project design (including electrical, mechanical and structural features), meeting permitting and regulatory compliance standards, pricing evaluations, project finance sourcing, materials sourcing, and locating engineering needs for the balance of the project’s construction.
  • Construction Services – Oneworld provides its execution expertise in delivering a fully operational project to its clients. This includes the negotiation of PPAs, the procurement of components (wind turbines, solar panel modules, inverters etc.), the commissioning of the project, and the interconnection of the project to the local utility grid.
  • Operations and Maintenance Services – Oneworld provides operation and maintenance services which include the daily maintenance of project systems and equipment to ensure optimal operation and the maintenance and repair of turbine blades and solar inverters.
  • Component Procurement and Distribution (Solar only) – Oneworld procures and distributes polysilicon, solar chips and wafers, solar panel modules, inverters/converters, and other associated components to solar markets through established distribution agreements with a number of partners.

These services are supported by Oneworld’s strong procurement and distribution relationships with both suppliers and as well as end users of the various products.

Power Generation Development Division

Oneworld has acquired its own portfolio of solar and wind power projects which are at various stages of development. Oneworld is currently expanding its business to include the development and construction of solar and wind power projects over the next 24 months, with the intent to own and operate these projects post construction and commissioning. See “Development Pipeline”.

In building its portfolio of solar and wind power projects, Oneworld employs a strategy of pursuing and sourcing low-impact projects in multiple locations. Oneworld’s careful selection process begins with the early-stage screening under a pre-specified list of criteria, in an effort to select high quality solar and wind power generation projects for construction under future power calls, RFPs, PPAs or FIT programs. Oneworld’s criteria for the addition of projects to its project development pipeline include:

  • superior wind or solar radiation resources justifying the construction of a commercial facility;
  • access to transmission;
  • access to long-term PPA’s or FIT contracts with profitable pricing for supply of energy to utilities or independent power producers;
  • satisfactory environmental conditions;
  • suitable terrain and geographic features conducive to the development of wind or solar projects;
  • visible growth in demand for electricity within the geographic region;
  • financial incentives available at the federal, regional and state/provincial levels;
  • potential for a levered internal rate of return of at least 14%;
  • regional and local political support of renewable energy development;
  • permitting and zoning policies that allow solar park or wind farm development; and
  • no significant geopolitical/sovereign risks.

Overall, Oneworld’s management believes that the availability potential projects in the Company’s extensive and expanding development pipeline provides the Company with a hedge against any changing political and economic environments, or evolving stakeholder and community support.
